Saturna Sdn Bhd follows and supports Saturna Capital’s spirited ethic of philanthropy and community involvement, which has been a part of our corporate mission and culture since our founding in 1989. Each year, Saturna Capital strives to donate 5 – 10% of its pretax profits to local, community-based organizations. It seeks to inspire other business owners to do the same. Since 2007, Saturna, via its headquarters, has donated a total of $11.3 million to various charitable organizations, including nearly $1.5 million in donations to 223 unique charitable organizations selected by Saturna Crew Members.

At Saturna Sdn Bhd, we regularly participate in charity work in local communities. During the fasting month of Ramadan each year, we provide Iftar for cancer patients. We contributed to the Ministry of Health to purchase machines for treating COVID-19 patients during the pandemic. In addition, we support NGOs such as the National Cancer Society Malaysia, Organisation for Blind Malaysia, Orphanages, and communities in hardship.

Saturna Sdn Bhd emphasizes supporting educational programs (e.g., INCEIF and IIUM) and is proud of its contributions to the Islamic finance industry. Our popular internship program is a good example. It helps students and graduates get first-hand experience of Islamic investing processes like fund management operations, Shariah screening, financial analysis, purification of portfolios, and many more. Furthermore, to continuously educate investors, we organize webinars on industry trends and provide speakers at events by other organizations focusing on Shariah, ESG, and investment topics. We share our in-house articles on the website as part of the educational programs.

Furthermore, we encourage crew members to participate in volunteer work in their local communities and neighbourhoods. Crewmembers actively engage in NGOs, regularly helping those affected by natural disasters. One example is the extensive support provided to the flood victims in December 2021.
