Saturna Sdn Bhd refers to, Saturna Capital, our shareholders, holding company, related corporations or associates or the equivalent legislation in foreign jurisdiction of SSB in Malaysia or overseas.
For avoidance of doubt, this Privacy Notice is applicable only if you are an individual. “Personal Information” refers to any information relates directly or indirectly to you (for individual) and/or relevant individuals in your organization (for corporation) and / or your transaction with us. The information includes name, address, occupation, contact details, financial information, details of your account, types of products subscribed.
By providing to us your personal information, you hereby consent to the processing of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy notice.
Why Do We Need Your Personal Data and How We Collect It
In order for us to deal with your inquiries, open and operate an account for you and/or to generally provide you with our products and services, we may need to and/or required to collect, use, disclose and store (i.e. process) personal information (including sensitive data) and financial information about you, including but not limited to:
Your name, identification number, date of birth;
Address, contact number, occupation;
Information captured on security systems (including recording of your image in Close Circuit Television (CCTV));

Through your relationship with us (e.g. information provided in application forms when using our products or services);
Through your verbal and written communications with us;
Information released through the authorities;
From third parties connected with you (e.g. employers, joint account holders, co-directors, co-shareholders) subject to your consent;
Through biometric, digital footprints, video images, voice recording obtained during your interactions with us, whether physically or digitally;
Through publicly available sources, directories or registries.

For such other purposes that is incidental or ancillary or in furtherance to the above purposes.
We will ask for your consent before using your personal data for a purpose other than those set out in this Privacy Notice and in the privacy terms of any of your agreement with SSB.

As part of providing you with our products and services and he management and/or operation of the same, we may disclose your personal data (to the extent necessary) to the following third parties;
Companies and/or organization within the SSB
Companies and/or organization that act as our agents and/or professional advisers;
Companies and/or organisations (including but not limited to custodian, trustees, distributors, brokers) that assist us in processing and/or otherwise fulfilling transactions that you have requested.
With law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies with whom we are obliged to do so under certain circumstances;
Any rating / reference agency;
Any third party as a result of any acquisition or sale of any company of Saturna group;
Any person connected to the enforcement or preservation of any of our rights under your agreement(s) with us;
With parties with whom we have obtained your consent to share;
Any third party service provider, agent or contractor who have been appointed by us to provide services to us whether in or outside Malaysia subject to sufficient security controls over the information;

We will otherwise treat your personal information as private and confidential and will not disclose your information to any other party except:
Where you have given permission and/or consented;
Where we are required or permitted by to do so by law;
Where required or authorized by any order of the Court;
Where we may transfer rights and obligations under an agreement; and/or
Where we are required to meet our obligations to any relevant regulatory authority.
Security of Personal Data
SSB places great importance on ensuring the security of your personal data. SSB regularly review and implement up-to-date technical and organizational security measures when processing your personal data. SSB employee are trained to handle the personal data securely and with utmost respect, failing which they may be subjected to disciplinary action.
Retention of Personal Data
SSB will retain your personal data for such period or duration as required by our relationship with us, in compliance with this Privacy Notice and/or the terms and conditions of your agreement(s) with us, for such period as may be necessary to protect the interests of SSB and/or its customer as may be deemed necessary, or otherwise required by the law and/or where required by SSB relevant policies.
Access, correction and Withdrawal of Consent
You have the rights to request access to your personal data provided to us.
You also have the rights to withdraw your consent for us to process your personal data provided to us. However, the withdrawal of your consent may affect the products / services that we can offer to you.
